Twice on our weekend away in Louise we chose to eat at the Glacier Saloon. Our first experience on Saturday evening was great. We had an incredible server Chris who while new to the hotel was filled with knowledge and quirky stories. It made for a great dining experience. My favorite thing about Chris was he offered up his personal recommendations which for me is a lot easier than choosing from a menu that's designed to make your mouth water.
First we had the cow tippers, seared beef tenderloin with two house made aiolis. Chris said the the cast iron pan they cook them in stays on the stove all night and that really came across in the flavor. We couldn't decide between the nachos and the wings so Chris allowed us to substitute some things on the skillet appetizer platter they offer. He recommended the local favorite hot and honey flavor and it didn't disappoint.
For pub fare the food is pricey but your getting real meaty wings and fresh ingredients all around which is not the norm at your local sports bar. So if your in the area coming back from the ski hill stop in for a pint and a few bites. They have lots of tv's to catch the game and a great atmosphere.
